Horizon Fitness T91 Electric Treadmill

Electrical Treadmill - Horizon Fitness T91 Electric Treadmill

For this post I will be reviewing an electric treadmill of moderate price range and power. This is the Horizon Fitness T91 electrical treadmill. Why do I say it is under the moderate category? The Horizon Fitness T91 has an electric treadmill motor which is rated 2.0 continuous-duty horsepower (CHP) which is quite powerful but not as powerful as the best top ranged electric treadmills. The selling price of the Horizon Fitness T91 is also priced at the mid range ($599). This is already at a discounted price. The original price of this electric treadmill is $899, hence you can say that this is an electric treadmill for sale!

With this high horsepower, the Horizon Fitness T91 electrical treadmill is able to run smoothly and quietly at a wide range of speeds (from 0.5 to 10 miles per hour). The treadmill provides a running area of 20 by 50 inches featuring a 1.6 mm two-ply belt and is able to take a maximum weight of 275 pounds. The actual dimension of the electrical treadmill is 34 by 58 by 67 inches (W x H x D) and it weighs 176 pounds. This electric treadmill also features inclined workouts, allowing you to set an elevation range of 0 to 10 percent. Do not forget the AeroSoft air cell cushioning as well, which will allow you to have more shock absorbance and also it will be less strenuous on your knees and joints.

The Horizon Fitness T91 electric treadmill has a control console mounted with a beautiful LCD screen. Not to be looked down upon, this treadmill also has nine workout programs, including manual, intervals, and rolling hills. You can choose from one of three different goals (such as time, distance, calories) and one of three terrains (such as manual, intervals, and hills). Some of the other features include contact heart rate grips to measure the person’s heart rate as well as Horizon's exclusive FeatherLight lift system, which consists of two hydraulic shocks that aids you to raise and lower the treadmill deck, thus allowing easy storage. If you are considering to buy this electrical treadmill model, you might also want to know that there is a lifetime warranty on the treadmill frame and motor and one year warranty on parts and labor.

Horizon Fitness T91 Electric Treadmill Review:

Horizon Fitness T91 Electric Treadmill Pros
  • The price of this treadmill is more affordable and competitive than those for treadmills of a similar quality and make.
  • Treadmill is easy to operate, runs quietly and the deck is easy to lift.
  • Lifetime warranty on the frame and motor with in home repair ensures that you can a new motor in case of problems. Value for money given the lifetime warranty.
  • Horizon Fitness T91 electric treadmill also comes with built-in fan and bottle holders.
Horizon Fitness T91 Electric Treadmill Cons
  • Problems with customer service (seems to be the usual!)
  • Not as sturdy as claimed and shock absorption is not that great.
  • Treadmill is easy to fold for storage but too heavy and bulky to be shifted around.
Verdict: Out of 34 reviews, 27 of the reviewers gave the Horizon Fitness T91 Electric Treadmill 5 or 4 stars. That is quite a good feat. If you need an electrical treadmill in the moderate range, this is the treadmill to buy. If you find that the more powerful Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill is too expensive and out of your reach, you can try out this Horizon Fitness T91 Electric Treadmill. But if this mid ranged electric treadmill is also out of your reach, I would then recommend the Merit Fitness Electric Treadmill which is a little less powerful and has lesser features than the Horizon Fitness T91.

Bowflex Series 7 Electric Treadmill

Electric Treadmill Bowflex Series 7 Electric Treadmill

In my previous posts, I have actually covered electric treadmills which are quite economical in price. This included the Stamina InMotion II non electric treadmill at less than $150, the Weslo Cadence C44 Electric Treadmill at less than $400 and the Merit Fitness 725T Electric Treadmill at just above $400 (at about $430). For this post, I will be reviewing an electric treadmill which is actually quite steep in price. At the time of this post, this electric treadmill costs a whopping $1299! But you know what they say, you get what you pay! So let me go into deeper detail into this Bowflex Series 7 Electrical Treadmill.

The Bowflex Series 7 Electric Treadmill is one of the best in its kind. Not only is it a top rated electric treadmill but it was also selected as a top fitness product by leading consumer magazines. This heavy duty electric treadmill offers a good cardio workout system with its 3.0 CHP (continuous-duty horsepower) which is more than double the other electric treadmills which I have previously reviewed. The walking and running belt surface area measures 20 by 60 inches, which is more than enough generous space, while the treadmill itself measures 83 by 35 by 55.25 inches. Bowflex's unique patented Strike Zone deck cushioning system protects your knees and joints and gives you the ultimate support, stability, and comfort for all your exercise needs. Similar to the other electrical treadmills, the Bowflex Series 7 Electrical Treadmill is also a folding treadmill can be folded up for easy storage.

The Bowflex Series 7 Electric Treadmill also has fifteen in-built workout programs, allowing you to create variety in your exercise work outs. The program options include manual, cardio, fat burn, speed interval jogger, hill intervals, heart strength/recovery test, calorie goal, distance goal, cardio heart rate calculation, body mass index (BMI) test, as well as two custom programs. Such personalization is seriously inbelievable! Its speed range can go up to 11 miles per hour and you can also set the incline grade up to 12%. The Bowflex Series 7 Electric Treadmill also offers heart rate monitoring through its LCD computer and has a built-in three-speed fan, two bottle holders, and quick-speed keys. This is seriously a luxury treadmill! The warranty is also very generous, you get fifteen years for the frame, ten years for the motor, two years for the parts – and 1 year for electronics and labor. It is almost a lifetime warranty!

Bowflex Series 7 Electric Treadmill

Bowflex Series 7 Electric Treadmill Review:

Bowflex Series 7 Electric Treadmill Pros
  • A variety of treadmill workouts programs is offered and it even allows custom programs to be created. Speed and elevation can be changed quickly.
  • This treadmill is big enough to allow a maximum user weight of 300 pounds and is also sturdy and tough.
  • Comes with a fan to cool you down and bottle holder to store your liquids while working out.
  • Folding mechanism is very simple and painless. You do not have to be Hercules to fold it up.
  • The treadmill electric motor is fairly quiet given its hugh horsepower.
Bowflex Series 7 Electric Treadmill Cons
  • Treadmill electrical requirements: 120VAC 15A non-GFI grounded outlet
  • As the treadmill is big and heavy, it is more difficult to move around and assemble.
  • Many bad comments about customer service.
Verdict: Out of 187 reviews, 162 reviews were 5 or 4 stars. I can bet that this electric treadmill may be expensive, but it is seriously worth your buck. If you do not have a budget, and you want the best, nothing comes close to owning a Bowflex Series 7 Electric Treadmill. Otherwise, if you are looking for something cheaper, you might as well get a non electric treadmill. If you read the consumer reports and do your research by reading up on other similar electric treadmill models at this range, the Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill has almost everything but at the best price. Not only has it been rated as a Best Buy by CR and a best treadmill, but it is also listed as “the best treadmill for someone other than a serious distance runner”. Enough said. Buy one now.

Stamina InMotion II Non Electric Treadmill

Non Electric Treadmill - Stamina InMotion II Non Electric Treadmill

So far I have been talking about electric treadmills, but I have not talked about non-electric treadmills. One thing good about non electric treadmills would be that they do not use electricity, thus there are no treadmill electrical requirements! Not only are they cheaper and less expensive (costing less than $150), they also do not have complex electrical components, they are also smaller, lighter and more portable. However, if you are looking for a good work out at home that is not as tough on the knees as it would be running outdoors, you can consider getting a manual treadmill. With a manual treadmill, you also have to put in more effort to get the treadmill moving. Hence you get to burn off more calories! Manual treadmills are thus known to be much better for toning the legs, butt and hips than a motorized treadmill.

I hope with this short introduction of the manual vs electric treadmill, you would be able to decide whether the manual or electric treadmill is the kind of treadmill for you. My blog will focus mainly on electrical treadmill reviews, but along the way if I see good non-electric manual treadmills, I will flag these treadmills out and give them a good treadmill review.

For this post, I would be doing a treadmill review on the Stamina InMotion II Manual Treadmill. The Stamina InMotion II non electric readmill is a very affordable treadmill that can let you have a great cardiovascular workout at home regardless of the weather or time of day. Thus the Stamina InMotion II treadmill is one of the best home treadmill for those who prefer to workout at home. Like all other manual treadmills, the Stamina InMotion II is self-powered. This means that based on your own walking speed, you create your own work out and walk at your own preferred pace. As there is not electrical motor powering the treadmill, your work outs at home are thus quiet and peaceful. You also get to save the earth as you are not using any electricity and thus not burning any carbon fuels! So turn on the television to your favourite program, get on this great non electric treadmill and do not need to be bothered if you are disturbing others at home!

One of the features of the InMotion II is that it offers a 42-inch-long textured, non-slip walking cum running deck that allows longer or shorter strides. It even comes with dual-weighted flywheels that keep the deck running smoothly and a pair of incline positions (8 and 10 degrees) to allow you to do inclined work outs. The non electric treadmill has foam-padded front and side rails and skid-resistant rubber floor protectors to maximize stability. The simple yet multi-functional monitor is battery-operated and allows tracking of distance, workout time, speed, and calories burned! The InMotion II measures 46.5 by 43.5 by 26 inches (W x H x D) when fully assembled but can also be folded up for storage in a closet or garage. As no electrical outlet is required, this compact treadmill can also be placed anywhere in your house! The InMotion II may only weigh 56 pounds, but it has a heavy-duty steel frame that can take a weight capacity of up to 250 pounds! Best of all, the InMotion II comes with a one-year warranty on the frame and a 90-day warranty on parts.

Stamina InMotion II Manual Treadmill Review

Stamina InMotion II Manual Treadmill Pros
  • Costs only $139 so definitely a good bargain for a good workout. Do not belittle the price of this non electric treadmill!
  • Treadmill is easy to assemble and compact in size, taking up little space, yet sturdy and of good quality.
  • Monitor accurately tracks the time, speed and distance of the workout but does not seem to be very accurate at counting calories.
  • Treadmill is at an incline thus providing a good work out.
Stamina InMotion II Manual Treadmill Cons
  • Belt may be difficult and stubborn and tends to drift and wonder to one side. Hence you have to keep an eye on the belt while you are walking. If the belt goes too far to one side, you would have to lean to the other side and walk the belt back to the middle.
  • Better to purchase some spray silicone first to allow the tread to run smoothly and to deal with any technical problems that might occur.
  • Be careful when moving the treadmill when it is folded up. The bolt which holds the lower portion of the treadmill up is a little short and can detach causing the treadmill to unfold and the lower half to come loose.
  • Not suitable for taller people as you have to hold onto the handrails as you walk or run, hence taller people have to bend a bit lower just to get a work out and this may be bad for the back.
Verdict: This is the first non electric treadmill that I am reviewing on my electric treadmills blog. Hence this review is based more on comparing the electric treadmills that I have reviewed before. Basically at the price of $139, this treadmill is a very good buy for those who are more budget conscious but still would prefer to have a treadmill at home instead of going out to the gym or running in the open. 29 out of the 42 reviews on Amazon gave this treadmill 5 or 4 stars rating. If you want a basic treadmill which is also cheap, this is the treadmill to get.

If you want to get in shape without breaking the bank, this cheap electrical treadmill is the treadmill for you!

The Merit Fitness 725T offers a 1.25 CHP (continuous-duty horsepower) and maximum power of 2.25 THP. The electric treadmill also comes with a speed range of 1 to 10 miles per hour and an elevation range of 0 to 10 percent. There are also many readings that are displayed on this treadmill as you exercise, this includes the resistance level, speed, time, and distance. These are tracked by the electrical computer console on the treadmill, which consists of one center module and two side LED windows. Not only does the computer track your stats, it also contains five quick keys and five quick interval keys for instant adjustments to your work out.

Other good points about this electrical treadmill is that it comes with two cup holders, a thumb pulse heart rate monitor, a fold-up frame, and four preset programs: manual, intervals, rolling hills, and weight loss. The Merit Fitness 725T Electric Treadmill also comes with a moderate sized running area of 18 by 45 inches, belt thickness of 1.3mm, roller size of 42 mm and a running deck of 15 mm. Similar to other treadmills, the Merit Fitness 725T comes with an AeroSoft cushioning system. It is able to take a weight of 250 pounds but I am sure you won’t hit that kind of weight when you start using this baby! Comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame, 2 years warranty for the motor and 90 days warranty on parts and labor. Sounds like a fantastic electrical treadmill if you ask me.

  • This electric treadmill feels solid and it is well built, easy to use and did I mention nice and cheap (just to get it into your head)
Merit Fitness 725T Electric Treadmill Cons
  • Assembly of the treadmill can be long and frustrating process (this seems to be a common gripe of most treadmill reviews) but as usual some users reported that assembling was a breeze.
  • The weight limit is only 250 pounds hence some of the heavier folk may not find this treadmill useful.
  • Calculation of calories does not take into account age or weight and thus can be inaccurate.
  • Requires quite a large space for storage even when folded up.
  • There are some complaints of a screw pack which does not seem to tally with the instructions in the manual.
Verdict: Out of the 30 reviews posted on Amazon, the Merit Fitness 725T cheap electric treadmill garnered 26 reviews which were either 5 or 4 stars (and for your information this electric treadmill got 17 reviews with a 5 star rating and is currently the best selling electric treadmill on Amazon. Time to love those love handles.

Weslo Cadence C44 Electric Treadmill

Electric Treadmill - Weslo Cadence C44 Electric Treadmill

This will be my first post on electric treadmills. As mentioned, this blog is about electric treadmills and I will review some of the best electric treadmills in the market. If you are looking for an electric treadmill, this is the best place to be! Not only are these electrical treadmills some of the best selling in the market, they are also cheap electric treadmills. So let us take a look at this first electrical treadmill that I am going to review. It is the Weslo Cadence C44 Electric Treadmill.

This Weslo electrical treadmill is a reliable treadmill and is rated having a powerful 1.3 CHP (continuous-duty horsepower) or 2.25 THP (total horse power) Impulse Drive System (for folks who are not familiar with these terms it is better to look at the CHP since it is the power at which the motor is designed to operate at). You can control the speed of this cheap electric treadmill (sold at less than $400) from 0 to 10 MPH through digital display. You can even set the incline at 3, 6 or 9 per cent, making this cheap electrical treadmill very adjustable.

As with other electric treadmills, this Weslo electric treadmill has built in comfort cell cushioning which reduces the physical impact on your joints, making running on the treadmill safer and more comfortable to those who are trying to shape up, build up your running stamina or lose weight. The Weslo Cadence C44 Electrical Treadmill also comes with a large LCD display for workout feedback and also an EKG heart rate monitor. The tread belt is 16 by 47 inch in size which is quite a moderately sized electric treadmill and this set comes with a 1-year motor warranty.

Weslo Cadence C44 Electric Treadmill Review:

Weslo Cadence C44 Electric Treadmill Pros
  • This electric treadmill is sturdy and heavy. Operating the treadmill is also a no-brainer.
  • Adjustable speed from 1 mph to 10 mph is in .1 increments.
  • Belt is of ample width and length for good walking.
  • Display is easy to read and the controls are well marked. Readouts are available for speed, fat burned, calories burned, speed of belt distance travelled and time of session.
  • This cheap electric treadmill comes with a safety key that is clipped to you when you are having a work out and which is required to start this electric treadmill. If the safety key is pulled out, this electric treadmill will stop and the readout goes blank. You can even keep this safety key with you if you intend to leave the house so that your kids are not able to play with the treadmill.
  • Pause function available which freezes all read outs.
  • The belt platform can be folded up flat for storage when not in use or easy transportation. It also has a plastic L-shaped catch to keep it from opening while the wheels are rolled out.
  • Good customer service from Weslo (though experiences with customer service can vary for many different people)
Weslo Cadence C44 Electric Treadmill Cons
  • Pulse monitor seems to operate at a slow rate.
  • Assembly instructions are not very idiot proof or friendly. For example the description of the screws were not clear. Though some people experienced difficulty assembling the Weslo Cadence Electric Treadmill, others mentioned that it was a breeze.
  • Motor is quite loud at lower speeds. May have to do your own lubrication.
  • You got to turn off the treadmill and fold it up before you can manually adjust the leg height to change the incline level.
  • EKG heart rate monitor is claimed to be not accurate.
  • Some claimed to have experienced problems with the belt, for example that it would run off or slip. When you attach the belt back it would be jerky.
Verdict: The Weslo Cadence C44 Electric Treadmill is good for treadmill beginners and those who are not looking for great specifications. Also comes at a cheap price for a good quality tough and sturdy electric treadmill, hence one of the best cheap electric treadmills around. But if you can afford a better treadmill, do get a better more. Will review more electric treadmills right here on the electric treadmill blog.
